Mrs. Nevelyn Young-Williams

Welcome to the most outstanding Math and Science classroom you will ever encounter!!!  This year we will research, discover, create and investigate the many worlds of Math and Science.

My name is Nevelyn Young-Williams, I have lived in Cibolo for 35 years. I’ve been living in Schertz for 5 years.  I am a SCUC ISD graduate. I attended Wiederstein from 3rd-5th grades, O'Henry/Corbett from 6th-8th, and Clemens from 9th-12th.  My two children both have or are attending the same schools. My son graduated in 2019 and my daughter will be a Sophomore this upcoming year.

I have been working with kids for over 20 years.  I attended Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin on an Academic and Athletic Scholarship.  I played volleyball and basketball all four years.  I also received my Bachelor of Science degree in education EC-4.  I moved back home and began teaching at those various levels: Pre-K and Kinder for 1 year, 2nd grade for one year, 3rd grade for five years, 4th grade for 3 years, and 5th grade for one year.  I've also taught K-5th grade Science/Art. I have worked as a Reading and Math Interventionist for K-4 English and Dual Students for 8 years at SCUCISD.

I have worked in the Judson district for 5 years, this year will be 6.

I have subbed in the JISD district for 2 years and was nominated Substitute of the Year at Paschall.

I was hired to work at Hartman in 2017-2018 as a 3rd grade teacher. Then, I looped with my students into 4th grade to teach Reading and SS.  In, this school year, 2018-2019, I was selected for the Judson ISD Spirit Teacher Award for Hartman Elementary. The school year of 2019-2020, I was moved back to 3rd grade to teach Science/SS, because of my passion for these subjects. From 2020-2021, I was self-contained until January. I then began to teach Reading through Science/SS/Writing. However, this school year, 2021-2022, I'm teaching Math/Science, which I'm really excited about. It's mostly HANDS ON-and you are able to read/talk and write/talk about it.--FUN STUFF!!!

I have also been involved with these committees: Science/History Fair, Spelling Bee, Rodeo Art, D.A.R.E, CIS, Student Council, and Career Day.

Programs I hosted at Hartman: Veterans Appreciation (1) and Black History (2) introduced Asian Gallery Walk (each grade level represented different countries in their pods, teachers and students walked to each pod and were given activities from each country).

If you have concerns or questions, I can be reached through DOJO or email nyoungwilliams@judsonisd.org
