Mrs. Carrie Dixon
1st Grade Teacher
Hello and Welcome to Crestview Elementary- National Blue Ribbon School!
My name is Carrie Dixon and I will be your child’s first-grade teacher. I am from the great state of Florida. I graduated from Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas with my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I continued my education by getting my Master’s degree in Education with a Specialization in Reading and Literacy from Walden University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I have a passion for teaching that started when I was only 5 years old and never wavered.
Last year, I looped to 2nd grade with my students from 1st grade for the first time. It was an amazing experience. I am excited to return to 1st grade this year. This is my 10th year at Crestview Elementary and my 12th year as a teacher. During the 2021-2022 school year, I was recognized twice as a Top 2nd Grade Teacher in the District for Amplify Reading growth, and our 2nd Grade Team was Top in the District.
In 1st grade, we will be learning how to become good readers and writers. We will also be exploring all the other standard subjects and developing a vast knowledge base. I encourage you to ask your child to "share" what they are learning with you.
My goal is to involve everyone in a positive learning environment. I want you to know I am always available to talk to you. Feel free to reach me via e-mail, phone, or Class DOJO.
