My name is Melonie Thornton and I am a proud Candlewood Eagle! I am a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio where I majored in Elementary Education. This is my second-year teaching at Candlewood Elementary and my thirteenth year of teaching all together.  I have a deep love for teaching children the skills they need to be an independent reader, learner, and a responsible citizen at Candlewood Elementary and in their community.  I have a huge heart for children, and a desire to push each child to their highest potential.
