Mr. Robert Schmidt

Hello Rocket Scientists! My name is Robert Schmidt, and I am excited to be teaching Chemistry this year at Judson High School.

I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2016 with my Bachelor’s of Science in Biology. I have also completed graduate coursework in biochemistry and molecular biology. I am a native of Nebraska, and a US Army veteran. 

I began teaching Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at Harlandale ISD in 2017. This is my fourth year teaching and my second as part of the Judson family. 

I am very excited for this school year, and look forward to accompanying you as we investigate the building blocks of the universe, and deepen our understanding of the world around us!



    Course Description:  

    In chemistry, students conduct laboratory and field investigations, use scientific methods during investigations, and make informed decisions using critical thinking and scientific problem solving.  Students study a variety of topics that include characteristics of matter, use of the Periodic Table, development of atomic theory and chemical bonding, chemical stoichiometry, gas laws, solution chemistry, thermochemistry, and nuclear chemistry.  Students will investigate how chemistry is an integral part of our daily lives.

    Grading Plan:

    Quizzes/Daily Assignments/Labs = 60%

    Tests/Projects = 40%


    Make up work and/or test corrections will be accepted per the 2020-2021 district standards.

    5. Maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself and others whenever possible.
