Mrs. Loriann Smith

Welcome Lion families! I am so glad to be here for our 2023-2024 school year as a fifth-grade math and science teacher! This is my first year as a member of the Escondido Lion Pride, and my fourth year as a teacher in Judson ISD. Before coming to Judson, I taught science in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, as well as ELAR and social studies at the elementary level. I grew up not far from here in New Braunfels, TX. I began teaching in 2015 after graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University with a major in Early Childhood Education. I am currently working on my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction through Grand Canyon University.

I chose education as a career because I have a passion for learning. It is my personal mission to help students tap into their natural curiosity and bring out their inner scientists and mathematicians! There are so many amazing things happening every day, and here at Escondido we will be continuing to lay the foundations for these students to prepare them for more in-depth levels of study. I am thankful to be part of the Lion Pride this year and cannot wait to help students achieve their learning goals!
