Ms. Lori Latiolais
Welcome to 8th grade U.S. History! I am Ms. Latiolais. This is my third year as a Wildcat, but my 15th year as a teacher. Up until now, I have been teaching Reading Language Arts. This year, I am so excited to join this adventure as you learn one of the history of this great country!
I enjoy the daily challenge teaching offers. Outside the classroom, I am a trainer for JISD working with educator professional development. I also serve on school committees and have developed curriculum for the district.
Before joining Judson ISD, I taught English Language Arts and Reading at Longfellow Middle School in SAISD. There, I coached and coordinated UIL Academic teams, taught AVID, chaired the PBIS committee, worked with the campus theater program, coordinated the IB program, and served in various capacities as a teacher-leader at both the campus and district levels.
Teaching, however, is my second career. Before entering the classroom, I spent 20 years in the entertainment industry where I worked in management positions in regional theater, theme parks, large-scale corporate, and special events. It turns out teaching is a natural extension of my college education from Texas Woman’s University where I studied Theater and Journalism, two degrees that prepared me to teach more than I ever expected!
