Welcome to 1st grade!  This is Mrs. Poe's first year at Candlewood, and she is very excited to be your child's teacher.  Mrs. Poe grew up in Seattle, Washington.  Ever since she was a little girl, she knew she wanted to be a teacher.  When she is not teaching, she loves spending time with her husband of 34 years, her three grown sons, and her eight beautiful grandchildren!  They love to travel and see new things.  

Mrs. Poe began her career by becoming certified to teach Montessori Preschool Education in Seattle.  She graduated from Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and a concentration in Early Childhood Education.  She received her Master's in Social Science with a concentration in Reading.  She hopes to begin her Doctorate Studies in Education soon.

Mrs. Poe's goal is to guide her students to be life-long readers, writers, and to be respectful citizens.  Each student is an integral part of her classroom community!
