Mr. Kevin Martilla
Hello. I'm Mr. Martilla. This is my third year teaching Physics at Wagner High School.
A little about myself:
I graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy with a Bachelor of Science degree in physics. I served in the Air Force for 21 years as a health physicist. The Air Force sent me back to school where I earned my Master of Science in Environmental Health. After retiring from the Air Force, I worked as a consultant for a private firm, owned my own small business, and worked for few years in the Army civil service. Along the way, the idea of being a teacher was in the back of my mind. When my own children graduated high school, I decided it was time to become a teacher.
Why did I choose to be a high school physics teacher?
I love teaching physics. What I love more than being a physics teacher, is being a high school teacher. I teach to hopefully have a positive impact and to help our students' succeed in and after high school in any way that I can.
Why Wagner?
I am an alumni of the district. I attended Kitty Hawk Junior High School and graduated from Judson High School. More so, I appreciate the students here at Wagner. They work so hard and appreciate the things that they have. They have made my job here as rewarding and meaningful as I could have hoped.
Students--I'll see you in class!
Until then, be kind and don't forget to be awesome.
Mr. M
