Welcome to 2nd Grade Spanish Immersion!

My name is Raquel Martinez, and I am the 2nd grade Spanish Immersion teacher at Wortham Oaks Elem.  I am originally from Puerto Rico, but have been living in Texas for over 25 years.  I graduated from UTSA with my bachelor’s degree and UT Arlington with my master’s degree.  I have been teaching since 2005.  I taught 1st grade Bilingual at Seguin ISD and Judson ISD.  I became an RTI Interventionist when I completed my Master’s degree, and worked as a Reading/Math Interventionist and Dyslexia teacher at Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD.  I am happy to be back at Judson ISD and continue my teaching career in 2nd grade Spanish Immersion! Mi nombre es Raquel Martínez, y soy maestra de inmersión de 2do grado en Wortham Oaks Elem. Soy de Puerto Rico, pero llevo más de 25 años viviendo en Texas. Me gradué de UTSA con mi bachillerato y de UT Arlington con mi maestría. He trabajado como maestra desde 2005. Enseñé 1er grado Bilingüe en Seguin ISD y Judson ISD. Me convertí en Intervencionista bilingüe cuando terminé mi maestría, y trabajé como intervencionista de Lectura y matemáticas y maestra de Dislexia en Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD. ¡Estoy feliz de volver a Judson ISD y continuar mi carrera en 2do grado!
