Welcome to Wortham Oaks Elementary, home of the Wildcats! I am part of the support team at Wortham Oaks, and our goal is to bridge gaps and ensure student success. As a Special Education Resource teacher for grades 4-6, I look forward to working with your child and helping him/her to master their IEP goals.
I am a graduate of Judson ISD and Texas Lutheran University, where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. In 1995, I began my teaching career with first graders in Seguin ISD. The next seven years, I spent in East Central ISD where I taught second and third graders. During my time in ECISD, I made several connections that led me back home to Judson. In the fall of 2004, I returned to Judson ISD where I taught at Crestview Elementary, a National Blue Ribbon School. While at Crestview ES, I was honored to be chosen by our staff as the Distinguished Teacher of the Year for 2008-2009. I came to Wortham Oaks when we opened as an RtI Teacher seeking the challenge of building new relationships and opening a new school. I embraced teaching 6th grade in the elementary setting in 2019-2020, and I absolutely enjoyed that experience prior to accepting a Special Education Teacher position in the second semester. In 2019-2020, I was honored to be chosen as Wortham Oaks Distinguished Educator. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I am the lead contact for Science Camp where 5th and 6th graders are engaged in science and team building activities over the course of 3 days. I also co-sponsor our Robotics Team at Wortham, and serve as our campus webmaster/Facebook manager.
