    Welcome to the 2022 JISD Advanced Computer Science Camp. 

    Congratulations for being invited to the JISD Advanced Computer Science Summer Program.  Here is some information to get you started.

    Date and Time:  Classes with run Monday thru Thursday from 12:30 to 3:30 PM in Room R106 at Wagner High School. 

    Instructors:  Mr. Fenoglio (pfenoglio@judsonisd.org) and several recent WHS graduates who have all won awards for competitive programming and have passed the ORACLE OCA certification exam.   (Note: we may see other teachers as well.)

    Transportation:  Most students are providing their own transportation.   For students who need bus transportation please visit:  https://www.judsonisd.org/Domain/2196  Students who arrive early are more than welcome to come to R106.

    Lunch: Available in the cafeteria.

    Goals of the Course:  Most students will focus on basic competitive level programming in JAVA. Several students may use this class to further prepare for the OCA exam.  JISD is researching the possibility of giving this exam this summer.

    IDE:  We will be using the Eclipse IDE loaded on the computers in R106.   I recommend that you load an IDE of your choice on your home PC (if available). 

    FAQ’s:

    1. What if I miss class?  We encourage students to attend each session, but we understand that this may not be possible. 
    2. Is there a way to do this virtually? Maybe, please see Mr. Fenoglio about this.
    3. WIll I be able to compete in UIL programming events after this course? Yes, at a basic level.
    4. Do I have the background for this course? Don’t worry.  Although the course is designed for AP CS A grads, we’ll be flexible
    5. What language?
