Degrees and Certifications:
I am excited about the 2023-2024 school year.
Here is a little bit about me:I am originally from a small town in New Mexico. I grew up in New Mexico, Ohio and Texas. I graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) with a B.A. in Psychology. I also minored in Sociology and heavily concentrated on developmental Psychology. I am almost finished with my Masters in School Psychology.
Even though teaching takes up a large portion of my life, I do have a life outside of the classroom. I have four children who range in age from 17-27 and a new grand baby. I have three dogs who think that I should spend all of my time with them. You will often find me just relaxing with my family.
I am a huge supporter of Rett Syndrome Research, and in October, you will always find me wearing purple. I love to make learning as fun as possible and I encourage students to be physically active even during learning.
I feel that teaching ECSE is coming full circle for me. In 2002, my daughter started PPCD at Converse Elementary. Sometime between then and now, we changed the name from PPCD to ECSE. I am honored to give back to the Special Education Program here at Converse Elementary. I hope to help parents who are navigating Special Education with their child.
I am qualified to teach EC-6 and Special Education. I also hold PREPaRE training.
Welcome to ECSE!!
