Bachelor of Music Education Masters in Music Performance
Mrs. Rebekah Gaona
This is my third year teaching music at Escondido Elementary School. Before teaching here, I taught private flute lessons to students in the San Antonio area and worked at Community Bible Day School. I received my Bachelor of Music Education from Texas A&M - Corpus Christi in 2011 and my Masters in Music - Flute Performance and Pedagogue from Louisiana State University in 2013.
I have the INCREDIBLE opportunity to promote music appreciation and performance to every single scholar on our campus from PreK 4 - 5th grade. Students are able to participate in Choir in the Fall (3rd-5th), Music Memory UIL Team, Honor Choir, and Xylophone Choir in the Spring (4th-5th). Kindergarten, First, and Second grades have separate performances that vary every year. All of these clubs/events occur at different times throughout the year; information will be sent via Class DOJO and/or handout.
When I am not teaching the distinguished Lions of Escondido, I enjoy spending time with my family and making music at my church. I married my husband, Julio, in 2012 and we have two wonderful children, Adrian and Camila. My favorites are hiking, kayaking, biking, live music, horseback riding, and movie nights- there is NO such thing as TOO much candy and popcorn!
Please feel free to email or DOJO me with any questions.
Blessings!
