Mr. Maxwell
Hello All! I currently teach Algebra I at Judson High School. I am really looking forward to the fresh, new school year and illustrating that Math is not something to be dreaded or feared but is easy to do if we know the rules.
A little bit about me: I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Control Systems from the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). In my senior year, my team and I competed and were awarded 2nd place in the University’s $100k CITE Tech competition by designing a vehicular blind area detection device using ultrasonic range sensors and wireless communication. I also have a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from UTSA specializing in Computer Architecture. During this time, I was inducted into the International Electrical Engineering Honor Society - Eta Kappa Nu.
I always thought that my mind was not well suited to math. It was only when I resolved to become good at math that I realized we are not born with inherent talents, we must learn them. One does not simply pick up a violin and know how to perform Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik; we must learn to crawl before we can learn to walk.
"There is geometry in the humming of strings. There is music in the spacing of spheres." -Pythagoras
