Welcome to 7th grade RLA at Metzger Middle School.  I am really excited about working at this campus, where two of my own children previously attended.  I have worked in public service for 20 years and now I get to give back to my own community by teaching English. 

I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas.  I graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1992.  I served in the Navy as a damage controlman on a sub-tender ship in San Diego, California.  I returned home and worked in Criminal Justice for Bexar County.  I worked in home health as a Programs Director, Caseworker, Advocate, and Quality Assurance.   

I earned my A.A. in Sociology from San Antonio College.  I earned my M.A. in Criminal Justice and Sociology from Texas A&M Kingsville.  I earned my M.A. in Human Services  and Marriage and Family from Liberty University.  I completed the San Antonio College ACCD Educator Preparation Program for Core Subjects 4th - 8th grade.   

I have three children who have attended JISD.  My eldest son, James, is 28 years old.  My middle son, Jacob, is 19 years old. My youngest daughter Abigail is 15 years old. My kids attended Woodlake Elementary, JSTEM Academy, Metzger MS, Wagner HS. and Judson HS.   I served as a Substitute Teacher at Woodlake Elementary, JSTEM Academy, Judson HS, and Wagner HS.  I look forward to teaching English during the 2022-2023 school year.
