Ms. Laura Breton
I was born in Mexico City but I had the opportunity to grow up in Cancun. After hurricane Gilbert hit and devastated Cancun, I moved to Puebla, a city two hours away from Mexico city if you travel by land. In Puebla, I studied in El Colegio Esparza at the Specialized Pedagogic High School "Vicente De Paul" There I received very rigorous training in Education and Pedagogy. Following, I had the opportunity to move to the United States with my family to San Jose, California. There I studied at San Jose State University and majored in Elementary Education, Environmental Studies and minored in Speech Communication. The places I have lived have exposed me to diversity and multiculturalism, experience that has made an flexible and embracing. After six different cities and two different countries, I had to adapt to different educational levels and approaches. As a result, I have been equipped with tools and the understanding to help others with the process of adapting to different cultures and the journey of language acquisition.
I have dreamed of being a teacher since I was in Kindergarten. I have been teaching all together for ten years. My pride and joy are my children. I have two sons who are both in high school this year. I love theater and performing arts. I am a dancer and currently I enjoy practicing and learning Zumba.
I am grateful and overjoyed for the opportunity to be part of Hartman Elementary School and being able to serve our community.
