I am excited for a new school year here at Kirby Middle School and to work with parents and students to make us successful and SOAR High! 

My name is Coach Kopp. I was born in Valdosta, Georgia and my Dad had military orders to move here to San Antonio when I was 6 years old. I graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in Schertz, Texas. I played basketball there all 4 years, I was on JV my Freshman year and the last 3 years of high school I was on the Varsity team. 

This year I will be teaching your child 8th Grade RLA while also coaching sports such as Girls Volleyball, Girls Basketball and Girls Soccer. I have taught at Zamora Middle School at South San ISD teaching Reading and Coaching as well for 4 years. This will be my 5th year teaching here at Kirby Middle School.  I have also attended Sam Houston State University on a Basketball Athletic Scholarship but then later transferred to Texas Tech University where I finished my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies 4-8 and became certified in ELAR/Social Studies 4-8. I am also ESL Certified and certified in NEDRP Restorative Practices. 

In my free time, I love to do CrossFit and still play basketball on Wednesday nights with an adult group league. I also enjoy reading new books that catch my attention and playing with my kitten Snape.
