Chase Krager

I was born and raised in Bay City, Michigan. I was fortunate enough to earn a scholarship to play both junior college baseball and basketball. From there, I transferred to Central Michigan University where I played men's club volleyball, and worked on my teaching degree. After graduating from CMU, I landed my first teaching job in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where I taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade social studies. I also coached track and field. I moved to San Antonio in May 2022 and I  work at Kirby Middle School as an 8th grade history teacher and coach. I firmly believe that it is more important for me to teach students how to be successful in life than for students to be able to list all the civil war generals. I accomplish this by showing students how to make connections. That's why we study history to be able to connect the different events and see how one led to the next. If students can successfully do that in my class, then they will be able to successfully make those connections in their own lives, hopefully leading to better lives in the long run. I consistently preach hard work. To me, it is as simple as that. If my students and athletes show up every day and work hard, they will have no problems in my class or on the field. If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out whenever.
