Monica Salmon
Welcome! My name is Monica Salmon and I am proud to join the Kirby/Judson ISD family this school year. I am one of the girls' physical education teachers and the girls' athletic coordinator.
I am a native of Alpine, TX and a proud alumna of Alpine High School class of 2004. I played volleyball, basketball, softball, and track during my middle and high school athletic career. I was blessed with the opportunity to play softball at Sul Ross State University before transferring to the University of Texas Permian Basin where I played one season of basketball. At UTPB I earned a Bachelor’s in Criminology with a minor in Psychology. I also hold a Master’s of Education from Sul Ross State University. I previously served as head softball coach, assistant football, assistant girls’ basketball, and middle school girls athletic coordinator at Alpine ISD.
While my focus is now on middle school athletics, I recognize the importance of youth sports and the impact they have on growth, development, and success, paying close attention to their needs and learning styles. I have utilized my personal and career experiences to help children develop life skills and characteristics that will enable them to work through and overcome some of life’s tougher challenges and decisions.
GO FALCONS!
