Mrs. Christine Andersen
Well howdy!
My name is Christine Andersen and I am a first year teacher at Metzger Middle School. I teach 7th grade English, reading, and writing. I graduated from Texas State University in 2017, and obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. There, I learned the importance and beauty of diverse cultures and languages in reading and writing. In addition, I graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio in 2021, and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After realizing being a nurse was not my calling, I moved into teaching. It makes sense since I come from a teaching family: My father taught chemistry, my mother taught elementary school, and my husband teaches Theatre Arts and Art in Alamo Heights.
In 2021, I read 54 books, and in 2022, I read 90. Needless to say, I am not exaggerating when I say reading is my passion ♥. I wish to spread my love of reading and the written word to every student I meet, because you never know what someone is going through. Books are an excellent way to discover new universes and explore new ideas.
Fostering positive relationships with my students is also high on my list, as I believe it is of the utmost importance to be a good role model. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are on the same team! #ridetogether
