1SG Taffoya was born and raised in Southern California.  He enlisted in the United States Army on September 24, 2001, as an Airborne Infantrymen. He received his bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Business from Excelsior University. His units and duty stations include 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vicenza Italy, 3rd Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) Ft Myer VA, 2-11 Infantry Battalion (IBOLC) Fort Moore GA, 5th Army (ARNORTH) Fort Sam Houston TX.  1SG Taffoya deployed to the Middle East in Support of both Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.  1SG Taffoya retired from Fort Sam Houston, Texas after serving 21 years in the Army.

1SG Taffoya enjoys spending time with his family.  Christopher and Jenny Taffoya have been married 14 years and they have two sons, Joshua and Christopher II.; a daughter, Abigail.
