Ms. Danielle Wilcox

Danielle Marie Wilcox
 
Danielle was born in Nancy, France as a military brat of the late LTC. Robert L. Wilcox for the United States Army. She started piano lessons at age six and continued throughout her life as her family traveled from country to country. When her father retired, she started playing clarinet in the sixth grade when she fell in love with beginning band at S. A. Hull Center in Jacksonville, Florida. Danielle continued band at the 7th center Douglas Anderson which is now Jacksonville's School Of the Arts Program. From there, she continued playing clarinet in the 8th grade at Arlington Middle School, and then High School at Terry Parker Senior High School. She sat the first chair for the entire three years and was an officer and secretary of the band at Terry Parker Senior High School.
 
 
She received a Music Scholarship and attended Florida A&M University. There, she studied classical piano training from Dr. Mary Roberts and Clarinet instruction from Dr. Daniels.  She marched in the Incomparable Marching 100 where she was selected as Clarinet Section Leader under the Directorship of the late Dr. William P Foster and Dr. Julian E. White. Danielle was active in several organizations, such as Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority, where she served as President, Song Leader, and Dean of Pledgees. She continued with the Piano Guild Club as President under the direction of Dr. Mary Roberts. She also served as President for the Music Educator National Conference in Tampa, Florida, where she represented her school, Florida A&M University Music Department.
 
Danielle is the mother of Corey Robert Alexander Wilcox, who followed in his father's footsteps as a well-known jazz Trombonist Mr. Wycliffe A. Gordon. 
 
She later became the Assistant Director of Sam Houston High School Band and started her own private lesson business entitled, "Music Makes the World Go Round". She has been a Master woodwind instructor at Music And Arts since 2019 where she currently teaches: Clarinet, Flute, Alto Tenor, Bari, and Soprano Saxophone for beginning and Intermediate students across San Antonio.  She has also substitute taught in various schools in Duval County Florida and Legacy Traditional School. The subjects she taught varied, but she started and built band programs across the county at several Middle and High Schools in Jacksonville, Florida.
She has Military and Chore training in Marching Band Programs. 
 
Danielle eventually went back to her high school where is served as the Asst. Director of Band with her former Director, Mr. Ward Green, becoming a Color Guard Squad Leader, taking them to several competitions and scoring in the top three rankings. 
 
Finally, Danielle Wilcox has received The Who's Who of America Awards 2010 and 2022 and has just received the Who's Who Award Professional for 2023.
