Hello, my name is Catherine Cornejo. I am one of Woodlake Elementary’s Special Education Resource and Inclusion Teachers.

I am a mother to an amazing 3 year old boy, 2 dogs, & blue feigning beetles! I enjoy Texas Country music and baseball. I was born and raised here in Converse, TX until I moved to Corpus Christi for college. I majored in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in Reading. This will be my 6th year in education, but 3rd in Special Education. I started my career as a 5th grade teacher in Corpus Christi before moving back to San Antonio to teach 3rd grade. I absolutely loved it, but found myself wanting to provide a more specialized support. My twin sister is a Special Education Teacher as well and inspired me to pursue the same path.

I chose Judson ISD because it provided so much growth and opportunity for my own family. My older brother was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was young. So my parents decided to enroll him in Judson ISD to receive the support he needed. He still attributes his success in reading to his dyslexia teacher. So I wanted to help give back in the community I was raised in as well.

I absolutely love what I do and am excited to see your child learn and grow! I believe in progress over perfection and utilizing the strength and tools your student comes with to help them reach their goals!
