Hello Unicorns! I am the new P.E Coach at the Fine Arts Academy at Olympia. I am extremely excited and honored to step into this role officially after having the opportunity to get a feel for the position as the long-term substitute last school year. My main goal for this year is for all students to have as many opportunities as possible to be active, practice and learn new skills and to enjoy physical education.
I am a San Antonio native who attended grades Kinder through twelfth in Northeast I.S.D. I graduated from UTSA with honors in Interdisciplinary Studies- Early Childhood through Sixth Grade. I then completed long-term substitute assignments in kindergarten, second and fifth grade before deciding to focus on my growing family and our business. My family moved to Olympia 3 years ago, which is when I began subbing regularly again and I discovered my passion for Physical Education. I am blessed to have found the close-knit, supportive, and family oriented values not only at Olympia, but in the surrounding community in which we reside.
In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends doing all things outdoors. Whether it is camping, boating, hiking, playing sports, or going to the beach, we love it all! My husband and I began coaching our daughter's softball team in the fall and spring seasons and that has quickly become a new passion of ours. As a mother, educator and now a physical education specialist, I strive to instill a lifelong love for movement and a healthy lifestyle in my own children and will now share that passion with my students as well.
