Hi Lions! My name is Mrs. Hendon, and I am so excited about the 2023–2024 school year. Here is a little bit about myself:
 
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I attended college at Texas State University, where I graduated with a degree in psychology and sociology.  A fun fact about me is that before I started teaching, I spent 10 years working for the National Cheerleaders Association. Working for this cheerleading organization showed me that I had a passion for working with children and seeing them reach their goals. This is what led me to the start of my teaching career in 2015. I spent my first 4 years as a teacher teaching kindergarten before I transitioned to first grade. This will be my 5th year teaching first grade and my 9th year in education. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and my 5-year-old son, Jackson. I am obsessed with all things Disney. I am a coffee lover, and I do all my shopping on Amazon. Furthermore, I am thrilled to be a part of Escondido Elementary and can not wait to get this year started.
