Miss Sarah Smith

Hello,

My name is Sarah Smith. I am new to JISD, and this year will be my first year teaching at Escondido Elementary. This is also my 4th year teaching in my career.

I was born in New Mexico but have been in San Antonio for the majority of my life. I went to middle school and high school at NISD, where I graduated in 2007 from O'Connor High School. I went to Northwest Vista community college and graduated with my associates degree in 2013, then went to the University of Incarnate Word for my Undergraduate degree or BA in education in May 2020. I have 2 minors, one in reading and one in special education. I moved and taught my first 2 years, teaching in Houston as a 1st grade teacher. Then I missed home and traveled back to San Antonio and taught Kinder with NEISD. Now I am here with Judson and love every minute of it. I am so happy with my school and staff. I am so excited to see what this year will bring for the 3rd graders and cannot wait to see the growth they will have at the end of the year. Please feel free to reach out to me whenever you have questions or concerns.

My favorite quote: " Every child deserves a champion—an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best that they can possibly be." -  Rita Pierson
