Hello,  My name is Cherolyn Smith.  I was born and raised in New Mexico, but have been in San Antonio, Texas for 8 years. This is my 7th year teaching in JISD.  I attended the University of New Mexico and graduated with honors. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education as well as a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Multicultural Elementary Education.  My minors are in teaching English as a second language and in Mathematics. I have taught all elementary grades 1st through 5th over the past 19 years. I believe that every child has something special to offer, and it is part of my job to help them find what that is. 

I have 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren.  I also have 2 very spoiled dogs. My husband and I enjoy remodeling our house in our "spare" time as well as going to the movies.
