Judson, Wagner Take Next Step In Playoffs

Both Judson and Wagner have taken big steps in the playoffs and the next round presents some great challenges for both teams.  They are facing some quality opponents that have playoff experience and history as well.  It all starts in the Alamodome in the morning as Wagner takes on Veterans Memorial from Mission and Judson faces Lake Travis in the afternoon.  It's a day of high school football that promises to be very exciting. FCA Students Show The Gift of Time

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) at Judson High School spent Saturday, Dec. 1st supporting "Boxes of Blessing" with Redeemers Church. This was a community-wide service opportunity of filling 9,300 boxes and the group was one of four on the conveyor belt who made up 3,100 boxes. The group filled boxes of food which were sent to various places of need.


Rocket Named To U.S. Army All-American Team

We've been seeing Demarvin Leal playing relentless defense all year long and plenty of people have noticed. He was selected to the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Team.  At 6-4 and 280 pounds, he is an anchor on defense. He has committed to Texas A&M University.  You can watch the 2019 U.S. Army All-American Bowl on January 5th at Noon at the Alamodome. It will also be televised on the local NBC affiliate (WOAI-TV)

Rocket Signs NLI To Play Softball At Laredo C.C.

Kadee Luna, a four-year softball letterman at Judson High School signed a letter of intent with Laredo College on November 27, 2018. Kadee is the daughter of Emmy Dominguez & Robert Luna. Kadee has been on the varsity team since her freshman year. For the Rockets, she has been playing third base and has played as a utility player when needed. Kadee received Honorable Mention All-District as a freshman. Off the field, Kadee has been actively involved with the R2R mentoring program for the past two years with Copperfield Elementary School. Kadee plans to major in Child Psychology. Laredo College is located in Laredo, Texas.

Wagner and Judson Games Hit The Airwaves

The playoffs continue... the Wagner Thunderbirds head to the Alamodome to take on Flour Bluff (from the Corpus Christi area), while the Judson Rockets will meet San Benito for a road game. Both games will be broadcast. Wagner on KCWX-TV and Judson on KLUP 930 AM.

It was a great football season for Veterans Memorial High School. The Patriots performed well in the playoffs in their very first year of varsity play. Coach Mendoza did a great job with the team going 8-4 overall and 7-1 in district. We know he will help his team use the experience next year in a positive way.

The Wagner game will be televised on KCWX-TV (VHF Channel 2)  (Spectrum 4 | 1215 HD; AT&T U-Verse 2 | 1002 HD; Grande 2 | 802 HD; DirectTV 2; Dish TV 2 ). Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m., but there will likely be some sort of pregame.

The Judson game will be broadcast on KLUP 930 AM at 7:30 p.m.
