Lady Rocket Picked As Scholar Athlete of Week

KSAT Sports picks athletes across the city for its Scholar Athlete of the Week and recently Amari Borrego from the Lady Rockets Softball Team.  She was chosen not just because of her athletic ability on the softball field (plays second base), but also because of her class rank, gpa and her community service.  She is a varsity starter and was awarded an athletic scholarship to play softball at the University of Mount Olive...that's in Mount Olive North Carolina.  She was also awarded a scholarship from the Judson Education Foundation. Congratulations.

Make Plans For Back To School Fair

We know...you're still enjoying summer...that's a good thing. We just want you to know about a special event that might help you prepare for the next school year. Back To School Fairs across Senate District 19 are orchestrated by State Senator Carlos Uresti's office each year and the San Antonio event will be coming up Saturday, August 15, 2015.  This year's event will be hosted at Harlandale ISD's Boggess Center, 12121 South East Loop 410, San Antonio from 10 am to 2 pm.

As in years past, Senator Uresti's office will be working with the San Antonio Food Bank along with other state and local agencies to provide backpacks with a variety of supplies, immunizations and other additional resources for students and their families.

All questions can be directed to 210-932-2568.

JISD Techology Team Leading In App Development

There are a lot of good things that go on in Judson ISD and we try to let you know about as many as possible. Recently our JISD Technology Department received some recognition from a national industry publication regarding what our techies have accomplished with the Parent Center app.  It is an app that was created in house by some of our great developers that gives parents a quick, convenient and dependable way to track their student's progress...like grades, attendance, meal account and you can event set alerts for dropping grades or discipline.  Take a look at the article from Tech and Learning (May 2015). JISD's part is about halfway down the page.  Congratulations on getting the attention of the industry for producing excellence in your arena.
