JISD Culinary Team Cookin' For Go Public Event

You may have heard that Judson ISD has a fantastic Culinary Arts program at Wagner High School through our Career and Technical Education Department. Well our program will be competing with five other culinary teams from local school districts in the Back To School Cook-Off. Go Public has partnered with the Culinary Institute of America to host this competition in a type of "Top Chef" format for its fall fundraiser. The event will be Saturday September 9, 2017 at the Culinary Art Institute on Pearl Parkway near downtown San Antonio from 10 am - 1 pm.

The Judson ISD team will consist of Superintendent Dr. Carl Montoya, Culinary Teacher Rosie Laster and two senior culinary students.  We can all show our support by purchasing tickets for the event and letting everyone know we are Judson Strong.  Space is limited for the event and JISD will be cooking against other heavy hitters...Alamo Heights, Northside, Northeast, East Central and Southwest ISDs. It should be fun and of course incredibly tasty.

Tickets are $10 and you can purchase them HERE.  If you would like to participate as a sponsor click HERE

Green Fairways For JEF Golf Fundraiser

The Judson Education Foundation always finds new and effective ways to raise money for its scholarship and grant programs and the annual JEF Golf Tournament is typically a biggie! Companies big and small come out with teams to play 18 holes at historic Brackenridge Park Golf Course.  It's a great way of enjoying a wonderful and challenging course and enjoy a tasty breakfast and lunch while you trade some great golf stories in between holes.  Back at the clubhouse, there was also a putting competition and some tempting auction items that also brought in some money for the foundation.  A big thank you to all the sponsors who made the event possible and all the companies who sponsored teams...you make a difference to our students, teachers and schools.

Hitting The Gridiron! The JEF Football Camp

The Judson Education Foundation has been organizing the annual Football Camp for years and it's always a lot of fun and there's always great coaching.  The weather forecast gave everyone cause for concern, but in the end the rain held off, the clouds kept the heat in check for the most part and it was a great weekend of football.  Thanks to everyone who organized this great two day event and all those who helped out.  JEF Director Marisa Perez-Diaz, Lexie Greathouse put the camp together with some great volunteers and of course the great coaches with the Judson Youth Sports Foundation.  Some great things are being planned for next year.

Video: Senior Citizens Boogie Down At Prom

JISD recently hosted its 2nd annual Senior Citizen Prom event for the community. Everyone had a blast from the past, dancing the night away and for some, it was their first prom experience. Watch all the fun in the video below!
