Salinas ES Student Performs at Board Meeting

Salinas Elementary School 4th grader, Sebastien De La Cruz, performed at the December 15th School Board Meeting.  He was there receiving recognition for his 1st place win at the Mariachi Vargas Competition.  AND - this week, Sebastien's family got a call from NBC's hit show "America's Got Talent," asking Sebastien to audition for the show.

Candlewood ES Student Recites Pledge at December Board Meeting

Candlewood Elementary School 5th grader, Kyzhane Wolford, was selected to recite the Pledge of Allegiance during the December Board meeting.  Kyzhane is in the National Honor Society and is on patrol, she performs in cheerleading competitions and also plays the piano.  She's an excellent student and teachers say she's a natural leader.  Her parents are Gary and Kimberly Wolford.

 

 

Judson HS AFJROTC Holiday Food Drive

Thousands of items were collected during the annual Judson High School AFJROTC Holiday Food Drive.  The TX-091st Cadet Wing uses competition between its twelve flights as a means to collect as many items as possible.  The items will be given to the G.R.A.S.P. food pantry in Converse.

 

AEIS Report Annual Presentation

The Academic Excellence Indicator System Report was presented to the public prior to the regular December 15th Board Meeting.

Green Thumb Club at Olympia ES

Olympia Elementary School's gardens are supervised by the their Green Thumb Club.  There was a beautiful harvest this fall and a rain barrel was even put in for conservation purposes.  They ended their semester with a field trip after school, to Botanical Gardens.  They will start work on the Spring Gardens when they return from winter break.
