Graduation Ceremony Summer 2011

Congratulations to the Judson and Wagner High School students who participated in the summer 2011 commencement ceremony.  Dr. Mackey, the principals from WHS and JHS, School Board members and more, were all at the PAC to show their support of the graduates.  A reception followed in Recital Hall Foyer.

Mr. Gatti's Get Acquainted Night

Masters Elementary School families and staff gathered at Mr. Gatti's for a "Get Acquainted Night Event."  They had fun playing games and getting to know eachother.

The Dictionary Project Comes to Paschall ES

Dictionaries were delivered to 3rd graders at Paschall Elementary School.  Students were excited for the surprise delivery from representatives from the Republican Business Women of Bexar County, as part of the Dictionary Project.  Dr. Mackey and Ms. June Adair, Secretary of the School Board, were on-hand to help pass out the dictionaries.  The Dictionary Project is a nonprofit organization that aims to improve literacy and the quality of life in their community.

3 Judson HS Football Teams Named Best of all Time

Media outlets, local fans and UTSA have teamed up to select the top 10 San Antonio high school football teams of all time.  Judson High School has taken a whopping three of the top 10 spots!  In fact, JHS is the only school on the list more than once!  Congratulations to the following teams: 

No. 9 - Judson, 1993 Class 5A Division 1 State Champions

No. 8 - Judson, 2002 Class 5A Division 1 State Champions

No. 7 - Judson, 1995 Class 5A Division 1 State Champions

If you were a member of these fantastic teams, please join us on September 10th.  Players and coaches will be recognized at the Alamodome during the UTSA football game.  Enjoy refreshments and pick up your complimentary tickets before the game at Spaghetti Warehouse between 11am - 12:30pm.

Olympia ES Summer Reading Program Pays Off

Some students at Olympia Elementary School went the extra mile this summer, to make sure they were prepared for the 2011-2012 school year.  Mrs. Garza sponsored the Olympia Summer Reading Program.  These students kept a reading log, read a variety of genres and kept detailed notes about the books they were reading.
