Toro Club Having Summer Science Fun

You know parents and kids have a wide variety of choices when it comes to summer camps and activities. That's why it's amazing that more and more students participate in "Toro Club" at Coronado Village Elementary School each summer.  The after school program is for students kinder to 3rd grade and is funded by the  Texas 21st Community Learning Centers.   Teachers and parent volunteers got into it as well involving the kids in weekly themed events and activities that focused on Summer Science projects.  It was in celebration of the Summer Solstice.  Enjoy the summer season!

Coronado Village Goes To Court

Field trips are exciting outings to students and offer so many different learning experiences outside the books and classroom.  Members of the Coronado Village Elementary Student Council took a VIA bus downtown to the Bexar County Courthouse to get a first-hand look at the legal system.  They took a tour of the courthouse and were able to sit in on an actual court case proceeding.  Afterwards, they got to talk to the judge and the attorneys.  What a real life way to learn what goes on in an actual courtroom.  Some day when these students get older they could be the judge or one of the lawyers.

3 T-Birds Play in All-Star Football Game

There are a lot of quality student-athletes that go to school in the Judson ISD.  Three were singled out from Wagner High School to play in what is called the Kids Sports Network All-Star Game. The players are Byron Mills, Jaden Moore and Chiante Rome. The game was played May 25th at Heroes Stadium. Congratulations to these tremendous student-athletes for representing their school and district well.

First Ever Skilled Trades Showcase at Wagner

Hundreds of students from Judson ISD middle schools and high schools attended the first ever Skilled Trades Show at Wagner High School.  The theme this year was Blueprint For Success.  Close to 30 vendors and business were on hand to give students a first-hand look at a variety of skilled trades.  From plumbing and electrical to surveying and architecture, many businesses provided a hands-on taste of their industry.  Wagner High School also had many of their students working on projects in the Career Center shop to give visitors an idea of what kind of assignments one gets to work on in some of the career classes.  The event is carrying out Judson ISD's mission in making students College and Career Ready. We want to thank our sponsors and vendors who worked with the district for this event:

Alamo Academies, Bosch Tools, Builder’s Exchange, CCC Group, Inc., CareerSafe,  Concrete Renovation Inc., Cude Engineering, Entech Sales & Service, Hispanic Contractor’s Association, IES Commercial,  Marek Brothers, Morganti Texas-Casias Joint Venture , O’Connell-Robertson, OSHA, RealityWorks, San Antonio River Authority, Spaw Glass Contractors, St. Philip’s College - SW Campus, Tejas Premier Building Contractors Inc. and Woodcraft
