More Winter Weather...Watch For Delays, Cancellations

There is a Winter Weather Advisory out for the San Antonio area starting Monday night at midnight through noon on Tuesday 1-28-14.  The chances do not look to be as good for ice, sleet or snow compared to last week's event, but it can be difficult to predict sometimes.  Be watching the website for details as decisions are made and be aware some phone calls regarding those decisions will come early to give plenty of time for teachers, students and parents to know what is going on.

Winter Weather Cancels Classes & Gala

The winter weather not only closed schools and offices within in the Judson ISD on Friday January 24, 2014, but the Judson Education Foundation 15th Anniversary Gala set for the evening has also been cancelled...but it will be rescheduled at a later date.  We will let you know when.  You don't want to miss out on that.  We'll keep you posted.

Judson ISD Part of Unity Parade

As part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend of activities, the City of Kirby hosted a Unity Parade.  The parade started at Kirby Middle School and included a number of groups from Judson ISD including the Wagner High School Band, Kirby Middle School Band , Metzger Middle School Band, Elolf Elementary Dribblers Team as well as a number of other school and civic groups.  The Wagner JROTC provided the Color Guard that led the parade and Judson ISD Superintendent Dr. Willis Mackey was the Grand Marshall.  Special guests of the Unity Parade were members of the original Freedom Riders...a 1960s civil rights group that protested segregation across the southern U.S

Spirit of Judson Awards Winter 2013

The Spirit of Judson Awards are special recognition awards for teachers and staff that show consistent quality contributions in the classroom. Those recognized also exhibit the willingness to go the extra mile for students, fellow educators and staff and actively take part in forming a positive campus culture. A total of 30 teachers and staff received the award this time around (presented twice a year).  As you can tell it's an award not just anyone gets and we are proud of the kind of work they are doing.  We thank you for your work, efforts and your attitude and it is a privilege to work with such professionals.

Converse ES Students Make Fiesta Especial Court

Folks at Converse Elementary School have pulled their efforts together for the second year in a row to support two students in their quest to be part of the Fiesta Especial Royal Court.  Braeden and Annabelle were crowned Converse King and Queen late in October and the school then launched their push to help both students become members of the Royal Court.  This involves a number of fundraising efforts that eventually go toward a special needs Fiesta Carnival.  That fundraising paid off as both Braeden and Annabelle will be serving as pages on the Fiesta Especial Royal Court. This will involve participation in the coronation, TV appearances, school appearances, riding in the parade and more.  Enjoy it...and a big thank you to everyone who made it happen.
