Lady Rocket Track Stars Sign NLI

These three girls have been burning up the track for the last several years and now they will take their track shoes to the next level.  Mariah Kuykendoll, Zantori Dickerson and Darionne Gibson have all been anchors on the Girls Track Team that won the State Championship two years in a row and they are now looking forward to what is ahead.

Mariah Kuykendoll signed with the University of Kansas for a full athletic scholarship.  She is not only a top notch athlete, but she is also an exceptional student.  Mariah moved away for a short period of time, but came back to the area and Judson last year in her junior year to help the team sprint their way to a second state title. She has been a great 4X400m relay member and excellent at running the 4X200m.

Zantori Dickerson arrived at Judson just as the 2015 track season was starting and ran much of that year on JV, but won a varsity slot just in time to start district competition. She went on to run a tremendous third leg of the State Championship 4X400m team that set a school record.  She has also decided to sign a national letter of intent to go to the University of Kansas, so she and Mariah will be teammates again.

Darionne Gibson has decided to accept a full track scholarship to UTSA.  Darionne has been on of Judson's best 400m runners since she arrived as a freshman.  She ran the 4X400m relay as a sophomore the first state title and ran a better first leg of the 4X400m as a junior as the team won it's second championship. Congratulations to all of these girls, their families and all the coaches.

Salinas Choir Performs At National Conference

It's always great when students can get experience performing at big events and forums.  The Salinas Elementary School Choir got the chance to sing at the National Dropout Prevention Conference at the Gonzalez Convention Center in downtown San Antonio. They did a great job performing at this conference which featured the presence of Texas Education Commissioner Michael Williams.  As you can see they had a great time performing at the event.

Volunteer for JISD Bond Committee

Community residents we are asking for your assistance. On December 1, 2015 from 4:30 – 6:30pm in the ERC, Judson Independent School District will establish a Bond Advisory Committee to identify and prioritize bond funding for projects that will advance the vision identified by the district. This committee will determine the scope of a needs assessment and funding priorities to be recommended to the Judson ISD Board of Trustees. This process will begin the planning for a future bond election where Judson ISD voters will get to decide whether the district should borrow money to fund specified district infrastructures, facilities, or other capital improvement projects or programs.  If you would like to volunteer please call 210-945-5207 or e-mail at dmcdougald@judsonisd.org
