50th Day Celebration At Masters Was Keen!

There are a lot of ways to celebrate milemarkers of achievement at school, but Masters had an interesting take on recognizing the 50th day of school.  Recently students and staff decided to celebrate like it was 1959! That meant dusting off a poodle skirt, if you could find one out of grandma's closet, uncap daddy-o's Brylcreem and roll up those blue jean pant legs with snowy white socks and Converse All-Star sneakers!!  Sorry, got a little carried away there.

Students were recognized and celebrated at the first Character Counts Rally of the year.  The event included appearances by the Masters' Dribble Team and Cheer Squad. In addition, the school honored and gave thanks to Veterans by providing a breakfast, special pins, thank you cards and a special performance by the 4th grade.

What a keen, swell event...it was truly the "bees knees!"

College Fair: Potential Unmasked

The 2017 College Fair was a wonderful success.  The Judson High School cafeteria was packed with so many students and family members.  The event hosted close to 100 colleges, universities and technical schools along with representatives from the armed services.  The turnout was also amazing considering the rainy weather and trick or treating.  But it shows young people are taking the important steps for their future despite what else may be going on...and their family is supporting them too.

It's Playoff Time! Judson vs. Warren

The first game of the playoffs is at Rutledge, but don't get too comfortable. There's a reason Warren is in the playoffs and it's not because their uniforms have a great color scheme...they have some talent too.  But the Rockets are ready and chomping at the bit to get going.  Please note that the tickets prices may change with each game.  This time it's the student tickets...$4.00.  Let's fill the stadium and cheer them on to a great first victory.

Wagner's DaRaun Clark Signs NLI

DaRaun Clark, nephew of Coach Rodney Clark, signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs.  He has been a varsity starter all four years of his high school career.  Among his other honors, he has been selected to First Team All District two years in a row and received honorable mention his freshman year.  DeRaun has made numerous all tournament teams and also helped lead the Thunderbirds to some tough wins and to a State Finals appearance last year. Congratulations to him and his family!

Metzger Orchestra Students Reach Regionals

Congratulations to Krishaun Barrett (viola), Mya Jarmon (viola), Devin Johnson (double bass), Aiden Abundiz (violin), and Margaret Johnson (cello).

The Fine Arts programs in Judson ISD continue to show some great achievements while they turn out some great performances at the same time. The Metzger Orchestra participated in the All-Region Orchestra Auditions at Veterans Memorial High School and these students really made an impression.  The students below were selected for this prestigious All-Region Orchestra. Congratulations to these students and Director Brian Coker.
