Converse ES Student Wins Writing Contest

The National Elementary Honor Society recently solicited hundreds of schools to submit stories about the concept of responsibility.  Converse Elementary School was one of those campuses contacted.  The challenge was called the Watson Writing Project (Watson is the mascot of NEHS) and involved 430 other applicants.  Converse ES 5th grader Emerson Curtis was chosen to have her story published in the fall in the Watson Anthology.  That anthology is about the four pillars of the National Elementary Honor Society...scholarship, responsibility, service and leadership. Congratulations to Emerson on her efforts and her accomplishment of being a published author!

Woodlake Hills MS Performs Lion King

The Lion King was first a popular movie and then a delightful musical.  As incredibly demanding as the production is in music, acting and the technical production, the students at Woodlake Hills Middle School pulled it off with great flair.  At middle school level these student actors and actresses really showed some great talent and dedication to this production.  Congratulations to them and their theater teacher Adrianna Vela for bringing this show to Woodlake Hills families.

Memorial Day-Remembering The Sacrifice

While we all enjoy the activities that typically come with the holiday we know as Memorial Day, it's important to remember why we pause for it.  In a decidedly military city like San Antonio, Judson ISD is a big part of the family life of those who serve our country at Randolph Air Force Base and Fort Sam Houston Army Base.  Those that made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom we enjoy today is more than worthy of our respect and honor.  We appreciate all of our military parents and what they do to keep this country secure. We also acknowledge the sacrifices family members make during deployments and reentry into family life.  We salute you.

The Rocket Band Does The Tobin!

The Judson High School Rocket Band performed at the first annual Youth Orchestra of San Antonio (YOSA) Invitational recently.  The event was downtown at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts.  The ensemble from Judson was one of 16 that were selected to take part.  It was an awesome experience for these students to perform in a venue like this.  Congratulations to these students and Director Jeffrey Keyes.
