Green Fairways For JEF Golf Fundraiser

The Judson Education Foundation always finds new and effective ways to raise money for its scholarship and grant programs and the annual JEF Golf Tournament is typically a biggie! Companies big and small come out with teams to play 18 holes at historic Brackenridge Park Golf Course.  It's a great way of enjoying a wonderful and challenging course and enjoy a tasty breakfast and lunch while you trade some great golf stories in between holes.  Back at the clubhouse, there was also a putting competition and some tempting auction items that also brought in some money for the foundation.  A big thank you to all the sponsors who made the event possible and all the companies who sponsored teams...you make a difference to our students, teachers and schools.

Hitting The Gridiron! The JEF Football Camp

The Judson Education Foundation has been organizing the annual Football Camp for years and it's always a lot of fun and there's always great coaching.  The weather forecast gave everyone cause for concern, but in the end the rain held off, the clouds kept the heat in check for the most part and it was a great weekend of football.  Thanks to everyone who organized this great two day event and all those who helped out.  JEF Director Marisa Perez-Diaz, Lexie Greathouse put the camp together with some great volunteers and of course the great coaches with the Judson Youth Sports Foundation.  Some great things are being planned for next year.

Accessing STAAR Results

The Texas Education Agency (TEA) notified districts that they were in the process of redesigning the Confidential Student Report (CSR) and that there would be a delay in districts and parents receiving these reports.  These reports are used to notify families of STAAR Results.  According to TEA, scores for students who took a STAAR exam in the spring should be available after June 12 (for STAAR End of Course) or after June 14 (for grades 3-8) by going to the Texas Assessment Management System  https://www.texasassessment.com/.  This site will be updated after June12th.  In the meantime, the links below will give you some guidance on accessing those results.

Olympia's Ambassadors Featured In Fitness Video

A new video was released that explains what the Mayor's Fitness Council is all about.  It involves a number of schools and Olympia Elementary School was one of those schools that contributed significantly to the program through its ambassador program.  Olympia's student ambassadors were a big part of not only the program, but also the video that was recently released.  It's a great video, professionally done and will be used nationwide to promote the program. The Fitness Ambassador Team was made up this year of Emaya Stahley-Langston, Avery Harwood, Madison Cooper, Jensen Heisler, and Victor Ortiz. They are under the direction of Stephanie Mihleder and Ms Tonya Harwood.

JISD Extravaganza Featured In NE Herald

The JISD Art Extravaganza is such a huge show that it's bound to get attention from the community and, as of late, also the media. It was the cover story on a recent edition of the Northeast Herald.  The story was a great piece on the variety and creativity of artwork and performances at the event that was hosted recently at Rollings Oak Mall.  A big thank you to everyone that organized and executed this event that featured virtually every campus in the district. JISD also appreciates the partnership with Rolling Oaks Mall in providing the great venue for this display of student work. If you'd like to read the whole article with photos click on the link below.
