T-STEM Academy Opens Applications

Judson ISD will be opening the TSTEM Academy during the 2017-2018 school year at Wagner High School. The academy is specifically designed to provide students a rigorous course of study focused on STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math).

The students enrolled will be engaged in advanced coursework within a Pre-AP/AP and dual-enrollment concentration, as well as integrated project-based learning and Makerspace environments. Project Base Learning (PBL) allows students to go through a process of inquiry, research, problem-solving, and challenges based on a driving question while allowing students “voice and choice”. Makerspace is a place where students create, invent, tinker, and explore using a variety of tools and materials. PBL and Maker projects are carefully planned, managed, and assessed to help students learn key academic content and practice 21st century skills (such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking) to create high quality, authentic products and presentation.

TSTEM will partner with University of Texas at Austin in order to provide dual-enrollment courses for students enrolled in the program. If your child is interested in taking part in this unique opportunity, you can obtain an application by CLICKING HERE.

Applications can be returned to Deborah Rice via email, or in person at the Educational Resource Center located at 8205 Palisades Dr. Should you have any questions, please contact Ms. Rice at (210)945-1148.
