Breakfast Kiosks On The Way

During School Breakfast Week, March 4th – 8th, secondary campuses will be introducing the Breakfast Kiosk. The kiosks have been located in areas where students can see it with a “Coming Soon” sign and hopefully pique the interest of students who may want a simple Grab n Go breakfast.

The Breakfast kiosk will increase student’s access to a healthy breakfast. These kiosks are at Metzger Middle School and Wagner High School.  They're also a part of the Physical Activity plan that includes new P.E. equipment to engage students in a healthy lifestyle. Much like the Breakfast in the Classroom, Fuel Up To Play 60 funds have helped jump-start the Breakfast kiosks.

Donors Make Possible Candlewood Teacher Self-Care Center

Being an educator can be both a rewarding and daunting calling. At Candlewood, we know our educators can not pour from an empty cup. "We wanted to create a space for our educators to recharge and reset after a hard day’s work," said Principal Andrea  Johnson.  So what was created was a Teacher Self-Care Room made possible by a donation. The self-care room was created by a large donation from San Antonio's HIP healthcare professionals and Dr. Patricia Adams.

The donation totaled $2,500 which funded the self-care room along with recess items, laptops, a sound system, and other items. Dr. Adams wants to ensure that Candlewood’s educators have a place to recharge and unwind. The self-care room contains a TV, refrigerator, microwave, speakers, yoga mats, and yoga balls.  We are so very thankful to Dr. Adams for her gracious donation to our school. Members of the community like this make it possible for Candlewood to soar.

Park Village Teachers Spike Volleyball Tourney

Park Village ES earned first place

Sometimes it's just good to get away from work and have so good old fashion fun...and sweat a little bit. The most recent example was the Elementary Teacher Volleyball Tournament on February 23, 2019, at Judson Middle School.  There were 11 elementary teams from across Judson ISD that played in the double-elimination tournament.  After many hard fought matches throughout the day by all participating teams, Park Village came out on top. Congratulations and thanks to everyone who participated in this fun event.
