JISD Board Approves 2019-2020 Budget

The Judson ISD Board of Trustees passed the budget for the upcoming 2019-2020 school which includes the compensation plan for employees.  Below is a general overview of the plan from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jeanette Ball.

On Thursday, June 27, 2019, Judson ISD Board of Trustees met to discuss the 2019-2020 budget which included the compensation plan. Throughout the entire budget process, the board and staff were determined to provide as much as we could for all of our employees. We realize that Judson ISD has the best, most dedicated and hardworking employees and that should be recognized. Our goal was to provide a sustainable plan that compensates employees and allows Judson ISD to provide a quality educational environment.

We are pleased to announce the following compensation plan for the 2019-2020 school year.
• Teachers, nurses, librarians and counselors with 6 or more years of experience will receive an increase of $1,930.
• Teachers, nurses, librarians and counselors with 6 or more years experience will receive a retention incentive amount in December that will be evenly distributed from an amount not to exceed $500,000.
• Teachers, nurses, librarians and counselors with 1-5 years experience will receive an increase of $1,630.
• Auxiliary Staff will see an increase of 2.75%, while Child Nutrition employees will get 3.0% more base on the midpoint of the pay grade.
• Bus drivers should expect an increase of $1.00 an hour more.
• Administrative staff will receive a 1.5% increase in pay based on the midpoint of the pay grade.
In addition, the Judson ISD Board approved a retention incentive for all the campuses within the Wagner feeder pattern for the 2020-2021 school year.

  • Those campuses include:
  • Candlewood Elementary School
  • Masters Elementary School
  • Woodlake Elementary School
  • Hopkins Elementary School
  • Park Village Elementary School
  • Paschall Elementary School
  • Escondido Elementary School
  • Metzger Middle School
  • Kirby Middle School

This incentive for retention is for $1,000 for teachers and $500 for instructional paraprofessionals to be paid in September of 2020.
I, along with the Board of Trustees realize that Judson ISD has amazing people and we want you to know how much you are appreciated. We value you and are blessed that you are a part of the Judson ISD team.
If I can provide any further information or clarification please do not hesitate to contact me.

The Judson ISD Board of Trustees changed the days for most of the regular board meetings for this school year due to the Holdsworth training opportunity in which senior staff will be involved. Most of the dates, but not all have been changed to the second Thursday of the month. Those denoted are dates that did not change, therefore still meet on the third Thursday.

Camp Invention 2019...Innovative And Fun

The great science minds of Judson ISD had some more mind-boggling activities for students during this year's Camp Invention. Keeping the mind sharp through exploring, designing, building, creating and discovery was the aim at this summer camp at Miller's Point and  .  Along with the brain gymnastics, the kids got to play some pretty high energy games to burn off some of that physical energy too.  It was a great mix of activities to turn their summer from ordinary to extraordinary.
