Converse Spelling "Bee-ers"

Converse students participating in the school spelling bee had a lot of competition.  22 spellers from grades 1 through 5  gutted it out for 18 rounds of spelling words.  After almost an hour, Kayla Jahn (1st grade) won the competition by spelling the words, legacy and joust.  So Kayla Jahn was the champ while Brooklyn Ellis (4th grade) was the runner-up.  Grade level top spellers included 1st grade-Kayla Jahn, 2nd grade-Justin Dehoyos, 3rd grade-Ashley Walker, 4th grade-Brooklyn Ellis, 5th grade-Luis Almanza. Kayla Jahn will go on to compete in the Express-News 61st Annual Regional Spelling Bee on February 8, 2014.
