Cool Schools...We Have A Winner!

Cool Schools is a partnership project of Go Public and KSAT-TV that helps the community and the Bexar County area know of the many great opportunities and activities that public education has to offer students.  They've been involving school districts in a friendly voting contest that essentially allows three schools per district to spotlight a program or effort that makes them unique and cool.  December was JISD's turn, so the three schools in the Cool Schools contest were Judson High School (Theater Arts Program), Metzger Middle School (Band Program), and Veterans Memorial High School (Mariachi Band Program).  In the end, Judson High School's Theater Program won the most votes, but the difference between Judson and Metzger was so close, that Metzger got a little love in the recording session for the segment.  A special guest to the video piece is alumnus De'Jah Allen (class of 2016) who is now attending Wylie College on a full scholarship. She comes back from time to time to assist Director Larry Bailey and was invited back for this session. Below are some photos from the video recording session.  It is set to air Monday, December 17, 2018, at 1 pm on SA Live (that's KSAT-TV)
