Distinguished Educator Awards

(original story published by Communications Department on December 20, 2017 in the Judson Post)

Teaching students…I mean really teaching them and making a difference in their lives is not something that happens all the time.  Some educators get the nuts and bolts of their lessons through to their class and then there are others that engage, motivate and even inspire their students.  This year’s Judson ISD Distinguished Educator of the Year is Anne-Marie Hilton from Wagner High School.  She was chosen from some 30 other great educators that have proven themselves as effective and influential.

Judson ISD has a tremendous pool of great teachers that are doing some great work with students and are clearly making a difference.  That’s why the JISD Distinguished Educator Awards is such as wonderful and important event, because it honors those educators who are consistently turning lights on in students’ minds and helping them reach their potential.

Each campus nominated a teacher that consistently hits the mark with students and shows the kind of attitude that’s positive and contagious. In effect, the nomination is a campus Educator of the Year that is nominated for the district honor.  With this award, Anne-Marie Hilton will now be JISD’s candidate for the Trinity Prize for Excellence as well as being the district’s ExCEL Award winner that KENS 5 TV profiles each year.  Congratulations to Ms. Hilton.
