Father-Son Connections At Hopkins

There is a special relationship that forms between fathers and sons.  While they may not always agree through the growing up years, if the relationship is there and it's strong, they can thrive.  That was the idea behind Hopkins Elementary School's Father/Son Game Night.  As a general rule, guys communicate better while they are doing something together at the same time.  Playing games seemed like a natural activity to that end, so dads (and even some moms) had some quality time to laugh, play and even talk...undivided attention time.  They played basketball, kickball and a variety of board games...there was even a drawing for prizes to win games to take home for their own family game night.  Now that's a school doing what it can to support families as well as the students.  Strong families in a community can influence and transform others and they need our support.
