JISD Board Selects Two For Key Positions

In a special meeting of the Judson ISD Board of Trustees on May 7, 2019, the board formally hired two highly qualified individuals to serve as JISD Deputy Superintendent and Judson High School Head Football Coach.  Trustees named Rebecca L. Robinson as Deputy Superintendent for the District and Rodney S. Williams as Interim Head Football Coach for Judson High School.

Ms. Rebecca Robinson

Ms. Robinson has served in education since 1981 beginning her career as an elementary teacher in the Eagle Pass Independent School District.  There she spent more than two decades not only as a teacher, but also as a supervisor for summer school, after-school care, and as a language arts coordinator. She went on to work as a principal and later as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction in that district.  Her career also includes service as Superintendent of Schools at South San Antonio ISD and Chief Financial Officer at Uvalde CISD spanning from 2012 to 2015. Before coming to Judson ISD in 2018 as Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning, Ms. Robinson worked as a professional service provider and consultant. Her years of experience and training will provide JISD with effective leadership at many different levels.

Judson High School Interim Head Football Coach Rodney Williams

Mr. Rodney Williams came to Judson ISD in 2012 to work with the football program and serve as the Assistant Baseball Coach. In 2014, under then Head Coach Sean McAuliffe, Mr. Williams was named Offensive Coordinator for the team. Prior to that, Coach Williams served in different coaching positions at several schools. Starting at Flatonia High School in 1999, he went on to J. Frank Dobie Junior High School in 2002 and Samuel Clemens High School in 2003 (Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD). Coach Williams has made major contributions to the Rocket Football program since his arrival with the team making the state quarterfinals or semifinals each of the last three years.
