Judson I.S.D. Board Passes Retention Incentives

In a special board meeting on June 11, the Judson I.S.D. approved the proposal to award full time employees of the district a $1200 retention incentive before the end of the year. The vote was 5-2 in favor of the measure that would see the one time incentives go to the roughly 2,800 full time and part time employees.  Part time employees working at least 20 hours a week would see a $600 incentive.

Board members supporting the incentive felt that since budget limitations prohibited pay raises this year, the incentive was a good way of showing the appreciation the district has for its teachers and staff. The funds for the one time retention incentive will come from the district’s general operating account.

The district says the incentive will go out to employees leading up to the Christmas break. To be eligible for the incentive, employees must have been hired by April 30 of 2012 and still be employed by November 15 of  2012.
