This comprehensive bridge program enabled the students with their personal outlook about high school including the most important, academics. These JISD Rising 9th graders left with a vast knowledge of expert college admission and scholarship guidance with an actionable and comprehensive 4-year plan to guide them throughout high school career. Throughout the action-filled 5 day camp the participants learned:

• Why colleges and coaches are looking for leaders who are making a difference
• How to build a resume’ that will get you into college and qualify you for thousands of dollars in college scholarships
• How to develop middle-through-high school leadership pathways that reflect their gifts and talents
• Why you must begin each school year with a set of academic, leadership, and community service goals
• Why you must become team captains, club officers and qualify for academic awards
• Why being an athlete is good, being a “scholar-athlete” is better, and being a “scholar-athlete” who is team captain will get you into the best colleges on a full scholarship
