Rolling Meadows Reads Out Loud
You're never too old for someone to read to you, and listening to books builds vocabulary and fluency... plus it's fun! Rolling Meadows Elementary started off February by celebrating World Read Aloud Day with school-wide and grade level specific reading events all day! Students from JECA and Judson High School came and shared very theatrical readings of books, Author Amy Bearce read excerpts from her upcoming book, Shortcuts and the Fairy Keeper Series to 5th graders. And 4th graders chose an author to video chat with...pictured below is Jarrett Lerner. Our literacy leader and Principal Ms. La Rue read the beautiful Jaqueline Woodson book, Each Kindness, via school-wide broadcast. It was a great day filled with great stories!
