Salinas Museum A Hit

Each year it's a treat for parents and fun for the kids as they learn about historical figures.  Salinas Elementary's Night At The Museum event featured students in grades 3-5 who researched a specific person of historical significance and put together a report and sported a costume that depicted that individual.  Each student had a button for visitors to press and when they did, they came alive as that historic figure and told the story they researched.  What a great way to teach how the basics of research and even performance!

This is one of the best ideas for the students to really understand and appreciate leaders from our past. I think all elementary campuses participate in this idea. Great Open House display too.
